The town has been awarded a total of $50,000 to make much needed improvements. This money will be available after October 1. The first $23,000 has been earmarked for replacing damaged light poles at the Twin Forks ball fields. The new poles and the older poles will all be wrapped to prevent further woodpecker damage.
The Town Council would like to remind everyone of the leash law in Bear Creek. You must have your dogs inside a fenced area or on a leash. Dogs running at large may be picked up by animal control.
Citizens are urged to make an appointment with their doctor (or health department) to get the seasonal flu shot. We have been informed that the new H1N1 flu shots will be available later.
